There are multiple graduate orientation events arranged by campus and school. Some schools have separate orientation and immigration information sessions which are indicated below. Fall 2020 international graduate orientations will take place virtually on Canvas beginning the week of August 24, 2020.

 

Graduate School of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, Graduate SMFA, and Cummings

Thursday, August 27, 2020 - Friday, September 18, 2020
Location: Virtual via Canvas.

The International Center hosts a mandatory Graduate Student Orientation to provide essential information to prepare you for life at Tufts. Students from all graduate programs are invited to attend (although see school-specific orientation and immigration events listed below).

  • Meet the staff of the International Center
  • Meet other incoming international graduate students
  • Learn about your F-1/J-1 student visa, and how to maintain your immigration status while studying at Tufts
  • Learn about programs and events on campus led by both the International Center and the Graduate Student Council (GSC)
  • Meet current international graduate students and hear about their experiences

Boston Health Sciences Campus

The Tufts International Center hosts a mandatory Graduate Student Orientation for students in the Boston Health Sciences Campus (Friedman, MPH, & GSBS) to provide essential information to prepare you for life at Tufts.

  • Learn about your F-1 student visa, and how to maintain your immigration status while studying at Tufts
  • Meet current international graduate students and hear about their experiences

Please note that students not arriving on campus until Spring 2021 will have a separate orientation in the January.  More information will be provided in late Fall.

The Tufts International Center hosts a mandatory immigration orientation for students in the School of Dental Medicine to provide essential information to prepare you for life at Tufts.

  • Meet the staff of the International Center
  • Learn about your F-1 student visa, and how to maintain your immigration status while studying at Tufts

The Immigration Information Session for PhD students beginning their program in September 2020 will be provided remotely. Information about signing up for the virtual session will be provided close to the beginning of the Fall semester.

Newly admitted students beginning their in-person courses in Spring 2021 will be notified of their Immigration Information Session in late fall.
