Campus Emergency Contact Information

For fire, police, or medical emergencies, contact the Tufts University Police Department (TUPD) or follow the instructions below:

  • For emergencies on the Medford / Somerville campus, call (617) 627-6911 or x66911
  • For fire emergencies on the Boston campus, or other emergencies off campus, call 911
  • For local police, fire, or medical emergencies, call 911

Travel Issues and Questions

If you are outside the US and have a travel issue, please go to our Travel Emergencies section for information and answers. Travel issues may include:

  • Questions about your I-20 / DS-2019 travel signature
  • Lost passport
  • Expired visa
  • Other issues or concerns about traveling to the US

Other Immigration Emergencies

During business hours (Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm) contact the International Center at (617) 627-3458. For emergencies after business hours or on weekends and holidays, contact the Tufts University Police Department at (617) 627-3030. 

Immigration emergencies may include:

  • Delays experienced upon arriving at a US border
  • Contact from US law enforcement (including Homeland Security officers)
  • Other emergencies requiring immediate consultation or response from an international advisor
