Dear Graduating International Students:

On behalf of the entire Tufts International Center team, I am writing to extend our heartiest congratulations to all of our Spring 2020 graduating international students!

Your accomplishments come at an unprecedented time. It is an understatement to say that the COVID-19 pandemic that emerged earlier this year has generated uniquely difficult challenges that we will need to continue to confront and address in the months and years ahead. However, despite the real adversities and hardships that we have all experienced and witnessed in recent months, we wanted to applaud you for your resilience, strength, and perseverance in supporting one another while progressing toward your goals. We at the International Center consider ourselves extraordinarily privileged to have worked with you throughout your journey at Tufts.

Many of you may be looking to the future with understandable trepidation and concern, given the current global situation. We however remain committed in our belief in the power and value of international education and experiences. We are confident that each of you individually, and all of us collectively, have the skills, knowledge and strengths and resources needed to take on the tasks ahead of us. As you consider your respective paths, we hope that you will continue to draw on Tufts so that we can support you in your future endeavors. Please stay in touch with us as alumni, friends of the Center, and lifelong members of our outstanding international community.

With best wishes and congratulations once again,

Andrew K. Shiotani
Director, Tufts International Center
