Filing 2020 Taxes
It’s that time of year again! All international students and scholars who were present in the US at any time during 2020 will need to file a tax return, whether or not you earned income.

Our office has arranged tax filing software through Sprintax to assist you with the tax filing process. We encourage you to use this software to make sure your taxes are filed correctly. We have sent out information about how to use Sprintax to file your 2020 tax return, but if you missed it, we will also send a reminder with the same information to all students a few more times over the next few weeks.

Before your start your tax return, please take the time to review our detailed Tax-Filing Website so that you will know what to expect and have the forms you will need ready. We also invite you to join a free tax-filing webinar hosted by Sprintax for detailed information about the tax filing process and requirements, and the chance to meet the Sprintax team and ask any questions you may have. Webinars are scheduled throughout the next month:

International Center Open Forum - Friday, March 19 at 9:00am EST
The International Center will hold a special forum for international students and scholars to discuss immigration developments, campus resources, and other news and updates of importance. We will assess the current status of immigration and visa related processes and offer a preliminary assessment of the immigration landscape heading into summer and fall 2021. The forum will be held online. Registration in advance is required. If you have any questions or topics that you would like addressed, please send an e-mail to Andrew.Shiotani@tufts.edu.

CPT, OPT, and STEM Extension Workshops for Spring 2021
The International Center has scheduled several on-line Zoom workshops throughout the next few months for F-1 students interested in either Curricular Practical Training (CPT), post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT), or OPT STEM Extension. Please visit our calendar for dates, times, and links to register in advance. Students who are completing their programs in Spring 2021 are strongly encouraged to attend and to apply for OPT early, as USCIS processing times can take between 3-5 months on average. Additional information about OPT can be found at https://icenter.tufts.edu/f1/f1-employment/f1-opt.

International Center Graphic Contest
The International Center is seeking a new graphic to replace our current 'I-Center' graphic. We invite current Tufts students (from all schools and programs) to participate in this contest. The graphic will be used to represent the International Center on the International Center web site, Powerpoint presentations, and other materials such as pens, flyers, posters, and handouts. It will not be used in any official University communications or marketing initiatives. We will be accepting submissions through April 30, 2021. Please find more details and the entry submission form at: https://icenter.tufts.edu/blog/2021/02/09/graphic-contest/
