Call for Nominations: 2021 Oliver Chapman Award
The Tufts University International Club ("I-Club") and the Tufts International Center are pleased to accept nominations for the 2021 Oliver Chapman Leadership and Community Service Award. This award is given to an outstanding senior who has contributed to the international community at Tufts through leadership and community service, whether locally or in national and international settings. The nominee should be a person who has reached out to others and who has demonstrated leadership and service while having an impact on the Tufts international community.

To nominate a deserving senior for the Chapman Award, click on the link to the 2021 Oliver Chapman Nomination Form. Nominations are due no later than 11:59pm on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Tufts students, faculty, staff, and alumni are welcome to nominate a current senior for consideration.

Upcoming TCU Elections
Elections to TCU student government (Senate, Judiciary, and Committee on Student Life) positions are coming up in a little over two weeks! Among those positions up are eight Community Senator seats which are elected to represent the Africana Community, Asian American Community, First Generation College Student Community, International Community, Latinx Community, LGBTQ+ Community, SMFA Community, and Women's Community. Elections will occur from noon EST on April 13 to noon EST on April 14.

International Center Open Forum - Friday, April 16 at 9:00am EST
The International Center will hold a special forum for international students and scholars to discuss immigration developments, campus resources, and other news and updates of importance. We will assess the current status of immigration and visa related processes and offer a preliminary assessment of the immigration landscape heading into summer and fall 2021. The forum will be held online. Registration in advance is required. If you have any questions or topics that you would like addressed, please send an e-mail to Andrew.Shiotani@tufts.edu.

Professional in Residence: Careers in Public Policy & Government w/ Giovana Manfrin, A'17
The Career Center will be hosting Tufts Alum Giovana Manfrin for a one-hour talk about her career path to her current position as a Research Fellow with the Women and Public Policy Program (WAPPP) at the Harvard Kennedy School, followed by a Q&A period. While at Tufts, Giovanna identified as international student and has since graduated and found success in a role within International Affairs & Government. Students can sign up from their Handshake account: https://tufts.joinhandshake.com/events/695390/share_preview. Interested students can also sign up for a one-on-one career conversation with Giovana which take place in 20 minute increments from 2:00pm EST – 4:30pmEST.

International Center Graphic Contest
The International Center is seeking a new graphic to replace our current 'I-Center' graphic. We invite current Tufts students (from all schools and programs) to participate in this contest. The graphic will be used to represent the International Center on the International Center web site, Powerpoint presentations, and other materials such as pens, flyers, posters, and handouts. It will not be used in any official University communications or marketing initiatives. We will be accepting submissions through April 30, 2021. Tax Updates
We are happy to share some good news regarding filing your taxes for 2020!

  • The deadline for filing your 2020 tax return has been postponed from April 15, and is now May 17, 2021.
  • E-Filing through Sprintax is now live! You are now able to electronically submit your Federal tax return from anywhere in the world, from the comfort of your phone or computer, without having to print and mail your documents.

Our office has arranged tax filing software through Sprintax to assist you with the tax filing process. We encourage you to use this software to make sure your taxes are filed correctly. We have sent out information about how to use Sprintax to file your 2020 tax return – if you have not received it, please contact us to let us know.

Before your start your tax return, please take the time to review our detailed Tax-Filing Website so that you will know what to expect and have the forms you will need ready. We also invite you to join a free tax-filing webinar hosted by Sprintax for detailed information about the tax filing process and requirements, and the chance to meet the Sprintax team and ask any questions you may have. Webinars are scheduled throughout the next month:
