Starting Fall 2022, the International Center will be using this listserv to bring you non-immigration news and announcements regarding International Center and other University events, programs, and resources of interest to the Tufts international community.   1. Join us at our upcoming Welcome Picnics!

Join us for International Center welcome picnics at our Boston and Medford / Somerville campuses.

-         Thursday, September 15 at 12pm, Boston Health Sciences Campus (Updated)
Location: Jaharis Greenspace, enter through 150 Harrison Avenue. Join your Boston classmates and colleagues for sandwiches and cookies. Meet other members of the Tufts Boston community! Show up early as sandwiches will be available only until they are gone!

-         Wednesday, September 21 at 4pm, Medford / Somerville Campus
Location: 13 Sawyer Avenue, across the street from the International Center. Come by for sandwiches and chips, and meet International Center staff and other Tufts students. Everyone welcome!

  1. Learn more about our Fall 2022 Undergraduate International Peer Advisor Program

Our international Peer Advisor program had a successful launch during the summer term. We are happy that our Peer Advisors are continuing to be available during the Fall 2022 semester.   1. Take a Nature Walk with the International Center on Friday, September 30 from 2 to 3pm, Alewife Brook Parkway

(Rain date: Monday, October 3rd). Looking for a chance to unwind in nature and connect with fellow international students? Please join us for a fall nature walk along the Alewife Brook path. This is a short walk from campus, where you'll discover a hidden gem right here in the city!   1. Become an Intercultural Conversation Program (ICP) Mentor!

The Intercultural Conversation Program pairs mentors with incoming graduate students for casual conversations and more.   1. From Counseling and Mental Health Services: Join Connection Matters, an International Students Discussion Group

Facilitated by Xi Bi, Counseling and Mental Health Service. Two Wednesdays, 10am to 11am, September 28 and November 16.  Join this conversation space for international students in this isolated and uncertain time. In this group setting, we will talk about our experiences such as fitting in or sticking out in groups on campus, and how we find ourselves staying connected or struggling with losing touch with our support system back home. We will explore ways to reduce stress and enhance coping skills. Open to all Tufts international students. To reserve a space or if you have questions, send an email to Xi.Bi@tufts.edu.

  1. Learn more about Ears For Peers, a Private Student-Run Hotline for all Tufts Students

Did you know about Ears for Peers? Ears for Peers is a student-run hotline available to all Tufts students. Student peers are available by phone or by text for private / anonymous conversations between 7pm and 7am every night. Peers can discuss concerns such as friendships / loneliness, anxiety / depression, relationship problems, and academic anxieties, and also refer students to useful resources.
