Spring 2021 Employment-Based Immigration Information Sessions for Departments

The International Center is pleased to offer two one-hour sessions during April 2021 focusing on temporary and permanent visa sponsorship for Tufts employees, researchers, and visiting scholars. Tufts hiring managers, department administrators, and other personnel with responsibilities for recruiting and hiring non-US citizen personnel and visitors are encouraged to attend. Each session will provide a broad overview of regulatory requirements, University policies, and current developments and events affecting hiring and sponsorship of international employees and visiting scholars.

Each session will last approximately one hour and provide opportunity for questions and answers. We encourage you to pre-submit questions to Andrew.Shiotani@tufts.edu.Each session is independent of the other; participants may register for one or both.

Session #1: Non-Immigrant Temporary Visa Sponsorship
Friday, April 16 at 11am

This session will review immigration sponsorship options under temporary visa classifications, including the J-1 exchange visitor, H-1B temporary worker, TN NAFTA professional categories and more. Registration in advance is required.

Session #2: Employment-Based Permanent Residence Sponsorship
Friday, April 23 at 11am

This session will review regulatory requirements and University policies for Tufts sponsorship of employees for permanent residence ('green card') status. Registration in advance is required.
