On Wednesday, December 28 2022, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced new COVID-19 testing requirements for travelers to the United States from China, including the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau. Travelers will be required to show a negative COVID-19 test result based on a recognized PCR or antigen test taken no more than 2 days prior to their flight departure. The requirement applies to travelers two years and older and goes into effect at 12:01 ET on January 5, 2023.
Also included are passengers who were in China in the last 10 days and transiting to the US through one of several international airports, including Incheon International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, and Vancouver International Airport.
