We are pleased to announce that Sarah Curry, Senior Assistant Director, will be stepping in to serve as Interim Director of the International Center starting on January 2, 2024. Sarah will assume this role following the departure of the current Director, Andrew Shiotani, from Tufts University at the end of December. As Interim Director, Sarah will be responsible for overall management of International Center operations and services. In addition, she will continue to engage in direct case management and advising in H-1B and permanent residence related matters.
Sarah brings to the role nearly twenty five years of experience in international student and scholar advising. She has been with the International Center in different capacities since August 2012. Currently, as Senior Assistant Director, she is responsible for preparing H-1B and other employment petitions, and advising AS&E, Cummings, and Fletcher School faculty and departments on permanent residency issues.
A search is already underway to hire a new full-time Director of the International Center.
In addition, during the Spring 2024 semester, Assistant Director Neriliz Soto-Gonzalez, based at our Boston Health Sciences campus, will be on temporary leave. For the remainder of the semester, Sarah will be supported by the International Center senior team that includes Assistant Director Pat Himes, and Senior International Student and Scholar Advisors Lizzie Siegle and Heather Varnet, as well as other members of the International Center advising team. Please view our team biographies as well as our advisor contact pages for more information. If you have any questions regarding these temporary staffing transitions, please contact the International Center.
Sincerely,
Tufts International Center
