US Citizenship and Immigration Services issued an update to the Presidential Proclamation on October 20, clarifying the application of the previously announced Presidential Proclamation does not impact current H-1B employees, extensions of stay for H-1B employees or those individuals who request a change of status to H-1B,  including their ability to travel to our from the United States if they are in possession of the appropriate documentation.

While the International Center continues to advise that H-1B employees travel with caution, individuals who already hold H-1B status may travel without being subject to a fee or restricted entry. However, if you have an extension of your current status pending, do not make international travel plans without first consulting with your I-Center Advisor. This is critically important, as travel while extensions are pending may trigger the fee. Any international employee who does not currently have a valid visa should speak to their I-Center Advisor before traveling due to increased wait times and scrutiny.  Employees should continue to monitor their emails from the International Center and those with questions should contact their International Center Advisor or email internationalcenter@tufts.edu.
