Undergraduate Pre-Orientation Programs
All new undergraduate students (including international and domestic students) who are starting their studies at Tufts are encouraged to participate in one of several optional Pre-Orientation programs, such as the International Center's GO (Global Orientation) program. By participating in Pre-Orientation, you will arrive on campus early and get the opportunity to meet other students, develop leadership skills, and engage in unique social and learning activities. Pre-Orientation is often cited by students as one of their favorite Tufts experiences! Learn more about Pre-Orientation. International students are free to join any Pre-Orientation experience that they would like, but consider joining US and international students for GO!
Join us for GO!GO (Global Orientation) is open to all new students! Get to know students from all over the world while discovering Tufts, the surrounding community, and the city of Boston. Undergraduate New Student Orientation
August 28 – September 2. New Student Orientation for undergraduate students takes place after pre-orientation programs are done. Orientation is an opportunity for all students and their families to learn more about Tufts, including requirements for students, campus resources, and opportunities to build connections and develop skills toward becoming a successful and independent student at Tufts. Undergraduate Immigration Session (Mandatory!)
Date and Location: Monday, September 9th, 12:00-1:00pm, Barnum Dana Complex LL08
All new undergraduate students (including first year undergraduate students and transfer students) are required to attend a mandatory Undergraduate Immigration Session to provide essential information to prepare you for life at Tufts.

- Meet other incoming international undergraduate students
- Learn about your F-1/J-1 student visa, how to maintain your immigration status while studying at Tufts, and immigration options for on-campus and off-campus employment
J-1 Exchange Student Orientation
Date and Location: Wednesday, August 28th, 11:15am, Dowling Hall - Milmore Room
Tufts welcomes exchange students each year from our exchange partners from across the world! To ensure that your time at Tufts is productive, educational, and enjoyable, the International Center hosts a mandatory Exchange Student Orientation to provide essential information for your exchange program at Tufts. During this session you will
- Meet your International Center advisor
- Meet other incoming exchange students
- Learn about your J-1 student visa, and how to maintain your immigration status while studying at Tufts
